West Michigan Mid-Sixties Bands
Isn't this the band that backed up the Iron Butterfly at Fountain Street Church in Dec 1968?
Posted by: Bill Van Ess at June 3, 2004 06:06 PMI remember these guys - I think I still have a record of theirs... "Half Past the End" I believe it is...
I saw them at the "Yankees" store on Leonard, of all places! They were promoting the record. This seems forever ago...
I saw these guys opening for Rotary Connection at LC Mohr high school in south haven in 1969, bought their record at Overhuels(?) record store in SH. Then in about 2000 found a dozen copies at the goodwill in Kalamazoo, east main street.
Posted by: Bill Krohn at May 2, 2005 06:01 PMYes, they opened for the Iron Butterfly. My husband Fred and I were their managers for a time and helped them get the record made, an audition with a major label whose name escapes me 42 years later, sent them on tour, and watched them go the way of most young musicians at the time--nowhere. The record had great play for a time in both Michigan and Chicago. I think my son has some copies of the record and the original tapes. Would love to know what happened to them.
